Wow been along time since i update this blog.... career change .... new work load.... problem at work.... but settling down soon
But i have never stop flying.... during this time, i have build the Corsair, the C47 Sky train and A10 Thunder bolt ... moving to EDF soon!!!

My new DX6i.... say goodbye to the nasty radio interference that was always giving me problem when i'm flying..... Once again.... my wife had secretly gotten rudy to get it for me as our wedding anniversary gift...... Thank you Rudy for getting the gift!

To my dear wife, Betsy....its has been my happiest five years ever since we were married .....and will still be looking forward to the next 5..... 10 ... 20....30......and more. Life will never be the same without you....food won't taste as good..... music won't sound as beautiful and flower won't smell as fresh. U have always bring laughter to my life and open up my heart in view on many things.... We have gone through many life challenging experience ... and never once they have ever come close to affecting our relationship... there will be even more challenges ahead of us..... but i believe our LOVE Will Keep us Alive!

Wow been something since i have update the block...... Anyway many things were going on and very busy with work..... But finally .... got some time recently to work on a new project .... so here it is.... Spitfire .... Wishdom....

Great Plane to fly... have a superb gliding characteristic which make it very easy to land.... however, with a short motor mount render a rather sensitive elevator movement.

The highlight of today's flight... Rod's F15 Maiden... flew very well... was almost gliding when it descend to land.. alike to actual F15 when landing.

P51 Mustang Maiden on 22 Mar 09

My P51 has finally maiden .....on a wet sunday morning, cold breeze and little drizzling did not stop this WWII mustang form taking its first flight.... Our test pilot "Rudy" without fail has took the plane up to storm the quiet air space of Woodland at approximately 0845 hrs. I have uploaded the video to U-tube.. click on link below to see!

Though not captured on video, the plane has attempted roll, inverted and low pass in full throttle.

Painted with edwards scheme .... mod with flap. Some recommendation from fliers at woodland rc air base. Everyone will tell you that this plane can't fly slow... with the include of flap... stall is less likely to happen as u approaches to land.

TORA TORA ZERO

If you chance about woodland RC Air base on sunday morning and happen to see a Zero in the air .... Most likely, i'm the one flying it. I have been flying zero since last september..... and still trying to get a hand of the flying characteristic of this notorious reputed WWII plane. I have since crash 2 zero upon writing of this blog and counting.... following is the my record of the zero i crash till date!

My first zero is from willy.... i have repainted it.... fix up my motor... and ready to fly.... it have flew a couple of mission but finally, crashed on a windy sunday while i'm practicing the zero landing.

Introducing Zeka RUL..... the zero Rudy had built for me after my second zero crashed in punggol on a friday morning... So glad that rudy had help me build a new zero "zeka RUL".... else i would have gotten a estarter instead as i was really thinking that maybe i'm not ready for this plane. Ever since..... Rul had flew many missions and had a couple of perfect zero landing ... i started to gain confident......and hey Rudy ... really appreciate it.

Rudy's New F16 finally maiden at woodland RC Air base ... painted in Red and White (edwards Scheme) like a red arrow piercing through the clear blue sky.

No matter how experience you are or how expert flyer you maybe... the feeling of their plane maiden flight are the same....anxiety.....nervous......rush.... trembling limbs etc. Ultimately there is only two outcome we are looking for.... either it flew or crash. Well i suppose if we have accepted both outcome from the beginning .... We might enjoy the process and experience even more! Anyway isn't what this hobby is about?..... TO HAVE FUN!!

Surprise! Surprise! My wife is full of surprise..... She always make my birthday special....

This time round she has come all the way to the field with my in laws and even bought a cake!

Take a closer look at the cake.. there is even a "Zero" on it....Who ever make it...you are a genius.Here is a pic of my in-laws (Richard and Ai Choo) who make their way here from Bendemeer... dun know what time they wake up.... so touched.Here are the band of brothers who are unknowingly been invited to my birthday party........ from left to right (up) John, Benson, Melvin, Alvin, Nicholas, from left to right (down) Rudy, me, kid1 and kid2. Not in the picture but came just in time for the cake.....Jade, Willy and Sng.Rudy has taken the trouble to get the birthday present for me on behalf of my wife.... see photo below..... I can't wait to open it so when i go home... i unwrap the present to see what plane i'm getting.... WAH! .... hehe.. won't tell u yet ..... will reveal once i finish building it.... Rudy Thanks man.... really like it.... great choice!

Finally.. i have realize my childhood dreamz... flying a plane... well as in not a real plane but... close enough. For those who also once share a though of flying an RC plane during your childhood, the answer is "NO.. IT DON'T NEED A LICENSE TO FLY THESE THING!!".

But however, you need the following...... a group of enthusiast whom i met in woodland flying space who are generous in sharing knowledge, ideas, skill, even giving away parts or plane... people like Liang kwan, Willy, Teng, John, Benson, esp Rudy who has coach me how to fly and many others and i just want to say this..... without u guys ... my plane will still be in the hanger. Last but not least... a very supportive wife who would never complain about me spending too much time on the hobby.

Oh forgot to introduce Who "Moe" is..........

Hi everybody .. this is Moe... my very first RC plane.....the plane who realize my potential to soar the sky, the plane that are so accommodating to my errors and make turbulence seems calm and merciful. Sometime too protective that it feel so reluctant to leave the comfort zone.

Teng is right....... its time to let go... And fly in the real world... where you need to learn to counter every cross wind, ride every turbulence and fly like a veteran.

So much so that is reminds me of life.... being in comfort zone.... Some ppl are fine with it ... Some ppl don't reliase it..... Some ppl knows but do nothing about it..... and Some ppl knows but only complain about it...... me .. happen to be someone who know about it... do something about it...BUT cannot come to term with it... it time to let go.

Come this weekend, Moe will take off from woodland home runway for the last time and have his last flight. With this....it will also bring a closure to a chapter in my life ... marks the beginning of a new one.

Thanks Moe for giving me so much happy memories in flying and bring so many new friends. Really appreciate it.

My Flight History

I had my First Flight Finally ! It all happen on a great Sunday Morning on the 17th August 2008. Rudy had help me took off ..... i took over the control after some adjustment on my controller ... and for 3 mins or so... i crashed!!... Although my plane didn't make it back in one piece, but those 3 mins i had was enough to lighten me for all those stress at work i had during that week. I feel alive again.

On 24th August 2008, i had my second flight. This time round, i had a full 10 minutes flight. It was so enjoyable. Must Thanks Rudy for taking off and landing for me.

On 31st August 2008. My third flight. i tried learning to take off. I had my worse clash ever! My Estarter were torn into two from the fuselage, my prop was broken and my landing gear came off. I recover the pieces and glue it all together in the field. In half an hour time ... i try to take off my plane again....it CLASHED! This time ... the wing broke into two, the aileron servo burnt . I remember sitting on my ground sheet looking at my Estarter...No one dare to talk to me then... i look over my shoulder and Teng ask if i need anything.... i replied "Anyone know where i could get myself a flight simulator?"

On the 14th September. My Fourth Flight. After 1 week on the simulator, i though i feel more confident to take off. With Benson and John around, i took off once again. It flew and gain altitude slowly. Too slow that i realize my estarter had gone too far. i tried to bring it back .. but in vain... finally it clashed into a tree near a school. Phew... what a close one... can't imagine if i would clash onto any motorist on the street. Luckily my plane had not suffer too much damage .. in no time i was ready for my Fifth flight. This time round... it took off and gain altitude... i got hold of the control and was learning to fly a figure of 8.

On the 16th September. My Sixth Flight. I brought my wife to the field for the first time... it was a bright sunny afternoon and rather windy. The plane took off and flew... she was so surprise that it took off in just a few meters.... after few minutes of flying ... i 'm ready to attempt my first landing. With some struggle with the cross wind .. i finally landed the plane .. although not a perfect landing but i was glad it came down in one piece. So glad that my wife was there to witness my first Solo and complete flight.
